In this tutorial i want to show you how
you can render scenes with a few lights in your scene, i want to show
how to do it, because almost all the rendering tutorials
that you see in the net they have a lot of windows or they use too many
lights inside the scene, and this last thing can be tricky to do it and
having a nice render.
This tutorial will be a easy way to
learn this, it’s no something special is basic the same but with other
tips, also i will show some material setup and rendering settings with
the camera settings.
To start let me show you the layout of the lighting in the scene, you will see i am using a Vray sun & Vray sky, a small Vray light and two photometric lights combined with the Vray physical camera.
The lights settings:
The Vray sun has the default settings, i just increased the shadow subdivisions and the turbidity, check the settings:
In the window i used a vray plane light to add more light bounces into the scene, and this is the setup for the this light:
In the two lamps i used photometric lights with ies profiles check the settings:
And the more important for me, the vray physical camera, for these renders i did some test and all the renders have been rendered with DOF, this is the setup:
And let me show some material setup, like fabric, wood flooring, etc…
Now let me show you the Render settings, i used Brute force, i did not recommend this method for fast renderings because i was using brute force with depth of field from the camera and this can make your render times more slower, but i like how they looks, i was trying with irradiance map but brute force can read better the details and the bump mapping, i don’t use the environment slot, this is empty.
And i did some changes in Photoshop, like Levels, Exposure, CA and some color correction with Selective Colors and Vibrance.
